Accuracy of Supplies Status Reports
How accurate are the Supplies Status Reports generated by HP printers?
Our printer receives very little use (it's a household printer, not an office printer).
Cartridges I replaced at roughly the same time (six months ago) differ markedly in their reported rates of consumption. But more confusingly, I cannot reconcile the differences in Pages Remaining and Pages Printed. For instance, my Cyan cartridge (90% full) says ~5300 pages remaining, yet both Cyan (70%) and Magenta (80%) say ~1200 pages printed and ~1200 remaining. What happened to the advertised capacity of 6000 pages?
I showed an agent the Status Report. He figured that the Magenta cartridge was empty. After only 1200 pages?! And despite the printer estimating that it is still 80% full?

Anyone ever find a workaround for non HP ink cartridges purchased prior to 1910A update Lockout?
From what I understand, HP did a Firmware Update in April 2019 that locked out all NON-HP ink cartridges. I have the Manual from my OfficeJet Pro 7740 and no where does it state that after-market ink brands are prohibited or that ONLY Hp ink cartridges will work. I still have ink supply from prior to this update.. one of the brands being Up&Up which is the Target store brand of ink. The Box I purchased in store states "replacement for hp 952XL high capacity black". So this isn't some no-name refill off the internet.
QUESTION: Has anyone had any luck getting an HP support agent give them a workaround for after-market inks purchased prior to the firmware update?

49 Service Error on Startup
After turning on my printer the touchscreen displays:
- The normal HP progress bar (black and white logo)
- "Initializing" with the color HP logo
- "49 Service Error - Turn off then on"
- then the printer restarts itself.
This loop continues until I physically turn off the printer with the power button or by unplugging it. This started about a week ago after ~1.5 years of flawless behavior. All of the advice I see for "49 service error" involve changing the configuration on the printer or updating the firmware. I can't do either of those because the printer doesn't fully start.
The printer is configured to connect via wifi. From my router's dashboard, I can tell the printer never connects to wifi before it restarts itself.
What should my next steps be?

Cant clear error message after troubleshooting
I can't get rid of the "Jam in output bin. Open top cover and release clearance lever. Clear jam" message on my printer. I've done all troubleshooting steps listed and nothing works.

HP PageWide 377DW large file printing problems
Hi, i have a problem with an HP Pagewide 377dw.
The printer works fine, until i try to print "large" image files (e.g. JPG files).
I try to print, i hear the printer doing something but then it stays on "Printing..." in the windows 10 spooler.
I think the file is correctly uploaded into the printer because it says (for example) 20,9MB/20,9MB.
And it does this with various PC, so it's not a PC-side problem.
I tried to reinstall the driver, upgrade the firmware etc.
I also tried with HP scan & print doctor without results.
Help! 🙂

Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281/fdw driver for Windows 10 2004
When I try to install a printer in Windows 10 2004 it says that there is "no driver available". When will a printer driver for Windows 10 2004 be available? I have had to go back to Windows 10 1909. That seems to work.

HP LaserJet 400 Colour M451dn Firmware Corrupt Ready 2 Download Error
Hi,
Been pulling my hair out (Not that I have that much) over this error. I tried every start sequence button combination to no avail. Tried connecting via USB but wouldn't install as couldn't see the printer as error is at the highest level as soon as you turn it on. I was able to send the firmware update to the network Queue but it would not instigate the firmware update as the printer was not visible via the network and offline so it couldn't install. I left the printer off for 1 week with power cord out. Turned on this morning and it started OK. I took it back up to place it came from and turned on with network cable in it and error again!!!!! Firmware corrupt Ready 2 Download!!!!! I turned it off and turned it on again and it was OK this time.... I waited around watching it and the firmware update that was in the queue actually installed!!!! I did some test prints over the network and Bob's your Aunty! So that was my fix.. Hope it helps someone.

HP 2605dn laserjet Not printing document

Need some urgent help please.
My printer was working fine and today i am havbing issues.
using MS Word i have tried to print a small document of 3 pages. Instead the printer is printing out many blank pages. some pages have some text on there but always the page is 99% blank.
I have tried resetting the printer etc and tried printing from other computers.
can anyone help please??

CP1525nw Driver update fails
Printer was working normally from my Samsung NP355V5C until HP told me to install the latest software - and still works normally on other computers. The update progresses to the screen showing "Product has been detected - Waiting for product setup to finish - This may take several minutes". The progress bar runs up to 99%, then stops and times out. I've run this several times, with the same results. It may be irrelevant, but the wireless connection on this printer died ages ago.
What do I try next?

MS Word + Rotating Envelopes
I recently purchased an HP LaserJet Pro MFP 281fdw to replace a Brother printer that has died. The problem I am having is trying to print envelopes from MS Word 365 MSO (16.0.13001.20142 64-bit). The printer refuses to rotate the envelopes. I have tried to manually change the tray in the MS Word envelope configuration menu, but without any success. The printer prints the envelope as if it were just a regular piece of paper, although it does respect the size of the envelope correctly.
I have no idea how to correct this. I really need to get this working correctly. I usually use TRAY 1, the individual sheet feeder for printing envelopes since it is the most convenient.

Paper Jams after removing/replacing Fuser Unit and cleaning intermediate transfer belt
I had been getting "splotches" on almost every the printed page, so I asked a friend for his suggestions (he works on printers in his day job). He suggested it might be a problem with the FUSER. So I ordered a new one, and following a YOUTUBE video, I replaced the unit. It didn't fix the issue, and in fact gave an error code. So I reported this to customer service at the vendor who sold me the fuser. They diagnosed the error code as being a defective unit. So I returned the unit for a refund and talked to my friend. He suggested it might be an issue with the intermediate transfer belt, so with YOUTUBE's help, I disassembled the printer to determine that it was in fact the problem. So I removed the adhesive bits of paper that had stuck to the belt and reassembled. Now the page begins to print (about 1/3 of the image gets printed) but then it jams before the paper gets to the fuser. The screen says "Jam in Print Paper Path. Open rear door and clear jam."
Did I break something in reassembling the fuser unit or the intermediate paper belt? My next step would be to throw this printer away and buy a new one, but it seems like that would be such a waste. Thanks for your help.

Difference between Printers
Hello all. Just wondering the difference between a couple of printers. First of all, what is the difference between the MFC M281cdw and the M281fdw? Also, what is the difference between the m281 series and the m283 series?
