I have

  • Make sure the printer is ON.
  • Remove the cartridges.
  • Unplug the Power cable from the printer while it is ON
  • unplug the USB cable from the printer end.
  • Wait for 30- 40 seconds.
  • Plug in the Printer Power Cable.
  • When the Printer is ready, insert the cartridges and close the cartridge access door.
  • Connect the USB  cable to the printer.

the printer still accepts the print job, flashes the green light as if it is receiving the job, the says completed. No paper is printed.

LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw Jam HP scam

My printer started jamming just a month after receiving it.  I tried everything on the HP site for clearing the jam.  I did this for at least a week of turning it off/on.  Resetting, restarting and trouble shooting.  I did a trouble shoot with an HP rep.  Finally the HP rep gave me a Case # 5052236039 and Order ID # BPRM 821901.  They charged my bank account a dollar and said I would receive a replacement printer in the mail and then to mail back the old one.  It never came and now it is 8 months later and the warranty has expired.  The excuse was always COVID and they let my warranty run out.  I dont know what to do.  I paid so much for this printer.  I am willing to pay someone to fix it, but I cant even find information of where to take the printer.  I just wish they had better customer service.  Do not buy the Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M281fdw, actually just dont buy HP at all.  They are scammers.

Laser Jet 1020 -- for each page printed, extra blank page also printed

Printer suddenly began printing extra blank page for each printed page.  Very frustrating! This is an old printer so naturally over time you expect some problems.  Usually these are fixed with driver update or reinstall ink cartridge, etc.  But not this one!  This problem is common in older printers and I found the solution at the bottom of this forum page:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/my-laser-jet-1020-printer-takes-an-extra-paper-every-time/td-p/6086816

From the original author:

"Open the right side cover of hp laserjet 1020 plus printer ..... u'll find one small electro-magnetic latch at bottom right corner ..... this problem happens when the magnet didnot release the latch even though the solenoid de-energized .... may be due to sticky dust or due to residual magnetism..... clean the small assembly properly .... further put one thin insulation tape to reduce magnetic attraction..... "

Also, YouTube video (not in English) showing example of procedure.  Though slightly different setup on my Laser Jet 1020, but same principle as shown in video.

So bottom line: you need a couple of screwdrivers, some scotch tape and a little dexterity and patience.  I used a dry rag to clean off the metal contact surfaces of the solenoid (there was some old sticky substance).  Then I applied a tiny thin piece of scotch tape to one of the metal surfaces.  Lastly, re-assembled printer by putting solenoid  back into its proper place and re-tightening screw and....voilà!  All was good again, problem fixed.

I would like to get status on the printer status before printing and during printing
I wrote the following code in C # but always comes back NONE

string printerStatus = "";
string status;
// Get a list of available printers.
PrintServer printServer = new PrintServer();
PrintQueueCollection printQueues = printServer.GetPrintQueues(new[] { EnumeratedPrintQueueTypes.Local,                     EnumeratedPrintQueueTypes.Connections });

foreach (PrintQueue printQueue in printQueues)
{

if (!printQueue.Name.Equals(printerName))
   {
    continue;
    }
else if (printQueue.Name.Equals(printerName))
     {
      status = printQueue.QueueStatus.ToString();

   EL.Ilog("*****printerStatus " + status );
}
}

M254dw rebooting every 2-3 minutes

This night I was woken up by my printer making regular startup noise. As it turned out it kept rebooting every 2-3 minutes. I applied a workaround suggested in this post.  - I changed the IP address for the printer from DHCP-provided to manual. The printer stopped rebooting however the situation is not ideal. The strange thing about it is that the printer worked fine for more than year and only last night something changed. I use Google Wifi for most of my devices.

Has anyone encountered similar problem? Did you find the solution?

I've lost access to the apps feature on the printer. I just used it last week and this week I am getting an error message that says:

Access Denied

The service may be busy.

Retry later.

If the problem continues, check for firmware updates.

I uploaded all new firmware and followed all suggestions as listed on this original post (turning off printer and computer, taking out ink, etc). The problem still is happening.

My printer as it is stuck on initializion or, if it gets through that, then it just says "Scanner Error 16".  This seemed to happen when I held the power button in for 30 seconds with the power cord disconnected.  I wonder if there is some way of hard-resetting that will clear this?

Because of the daily need for printing, I've already had to buy and install a new M426DW, which is great, but I would like to get the M225DW working as it's only 2 years from new installed.  Our last HP printer lasted 16 years!

Thanks!

Microsoft Surface Pro X incompatible with any HP printer - pages printed with missing letters

My HP printers don't work on the microsoft surface pro x. The documents are printed from Microsoft Word with missing letters on the phrases. I already tested the printers with other computers and they all work. Its surely a problem related to Microsoft Surface Pro X , that might be incompatible with any HP printer - pages printed with missing letters.

The surface pro runs a ARM 64-bit processor and I think this is the root cause of the problem. I tried with several different HP printers. Example: Laserjet Pro MFP M.

Processor: Microsoft SQ1 @ 3.0 GHz 3.00 GHz
System Type: 64-bit operating system, ARM-based processor

Hi, I have had this printer for less than two months. when I turned on the print it said document load. I tried resetting the print jobs and it still show document loaded, I don't have any print job waiting on the computer. I did a hard reset and that didn't help either.

My second problem is the the ready 2 download fw corrupt , I tried to update the firmware and it wouldn't update. I don't know if the document loaded is related to the corrupt fw.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

My LaserJet m1212nf is stuck in an initializing loop after installing Win10 drivers

$

I downloaded and installed the HP_M1130_M1210_MFP_Full_Solution-v20180815-10158769... driver pack. This appeared to successfully load on my PC, but it them appears that a firmware upgrade was sent to the LasterJet m1212nf printer. Since then the printer has been stuck in a continuous Initializing loop.

I have attempted to resend the firmware upgrade but the upgrade software reports the printer is offline or starting up. This was attempted using LAN and USB interfaces.

I then did a reset:

- Power up printer, wait for lights/activity to stop, remove print cartridge, remove power cord, wait 70 seconds then reverse actions. This did not achieve any change

Next I attempted a NVRAM reset, but this is now caught in the initializing loop where it prompts for Language and Country before shutting down and looping to the next startup attempt in a few seconds.

This printer has been exceptionally reliable so I'd appreciate any assistance to bring it back to life.
