Disable / turn off EcoSMART on HP476 Color Laserjet
I have owned an HP476 printer for some years now and it has been a reliable workhorse.
I thank the HP engineering team for it's robust design!
I have the same problem now that some others seem to have had:
It appears that EcoSMART is putting the printer to sleep and when it does the printer falls off the network.
This has just become a problem for me as I have a long-term assignment where in I must have the printer wirelessly connected to a "managed network", unfortunately not managed my ME. The printer has a DHCP issued IP address, and I am unable to obtain a fixed IP address for it.
I have read in other threads that this might fix my problem, if desperate I might end up hard-coding the DHCP-assigned address to the printer and see if it works and/or if the network police come and kick down my door ;-/
So I am looking for other solutions???

Color LaserJet Pro MFP 476dw
Firmware is: 20180201 <-- I know there is a later version of the firmware, but I have not updated.
My company insists I use 3rd-party toner (otherwise I have to pay), and I have been unable to verify
that 3rd party toner would continue to work if I upgrade the firmware.
The Ecosmart console currently displays as below (I thought that the "shut down after: NEVER" would resolve the problem,
but it has not...
So... I am open to suggestions!!!

Black specks down left center of page
I have specks appearing down the left center of the page on my LaserJet M401dn. (See below)
I put in a new toner cartridge, and the problem was resolved for a while, but it came back exactly the same as before. I did the partial print test, and the specs are showing up before the fuser and are visible on the drum, but are not on the paper before it passes under the drum. The drum is getting cleaned properly on each pass. I have cleaned the drum with cotton balls and isopropyl alcohol, but it doesn't help. The specks seem to get worse the more toner that is on the page. However, even if I run a blank piece of paper through it, they still are there.

how long do opened HP toner cartridges last? (if properly stored!)
I bought this M254dw 7 months ago. It was apparently a demo and had starter cartridges in it that only had a couple pages use on them. The printer showed no wear at all. Has original firmware on it.
So I figure cartridges have been opened and in printer for a year, maybe 2. They still have a few months use in them at the rate I use them so I will store them (air sealed, moisture removal packet, dark, horizontal, correct side up) when I get my new 202A set (genuine HP) in a week or so. They have worked flawlessly so far. Does anyone have experience of a stored HP toner cartridge going bad? Thanks!

HP 428fdn printer freezes
Hi, I need some help. Several HP428FDN pieces are available. On average, 5 to 9 employees are connected to each of them. Each printer freezes at regular intervals every day, and rebooting the hardware helps.
During the suspended state, you can get to a web resource with the printer settings, but it does not respond to anything. Updated the firmware to 002_2014A the problem remained.

printing mixed page size PDF's from different trays
I have the Laser Jet Pro m404-m405 model with a 3rd tray installed. I'm trying to print from Adobe Acrobat DC and my document includes both 8 1/2 x 11 and 8 1/2 x 14 pages. At first setup, I was able to print the whole document and it would automatically select the proper page sizes when printing utilizing both trays accordingly. After the 3rd time printing it has failed to select the right page sizes. I tried printing the same document and still no success. I haven't been able to find any solution for this issue. I'm using HP envy laptop with windows 10, 11th gen I7 processor. Please let me know what settings need to be changed. I was successful with "fit" and "choose paper source by PDF size" both checked, trays are configured to the proper paper size on the printer app and printer menu on the printer. Keeping everything the same though, it stopped performing this operation successfully.

False Paper jam HP Laser jet M476dw
My printer is giving a false paper jam at the exit.... I researched on here and people suggested cleaning the pick up rollers - which I did - but the issue remains unresolved - it's not a question of the pick up - it is as the paper is exiting - after every sheet I get a paper jam error with a message to open the back and remove the paper - I open the back and close it (there is no paper to remove) and the next sheet prints.
There must be a faulty sensor or similar at the exit that is giving this false error message - can anyone suggest a fix?

Illicit sales and incompatible cartridges - loosing 900 USD In 9 months HP
So bought a nice 281FDW back in March on-line from what I thought was an HP Vietnam reseller. Product came with warranty, made in Vietnam confirmation and all looked good.
Upon needing to change my toners, I installed a supposedly compatible HP202a yellow cartridge which gave me the Incompatibility message.
‘Having found out that the 600 USD device was illicit import (HP Vietnam seemingly doesn’t do random) after checking with HP the serial, I was told that the cartridges sold in Vietnam aren’t compatible (despite being advertised as such) while the 203 ones, which are compatible (for EU) aren’t sold in Vietnam. ( the machine was manufactured in Vietnam and likely never even exported...)
I found a similar issue posted by an Indian customer whom received HP global support and a solution, by advising him to reset the NVRAM.but upon asking HP Vietnam to support me like wise, I was told “can not”.
So I bought a genuine printer, genuine cartridges worth combined close to 900 USD and should dump all after not even a year?
I hope some HP customer centric staff can help me out here as I certainly won’t go quiet if no solution can be provided.
A customer should NOT be made aware to check region compatibility of a similar named device as being sold on the official distributor pages in Vietnam. This is utterly wrong and if to happen in the USA, this would be taken very serious.

jammed paper
We have a rear door paper jam, but cannot reach the paper - the jammed paper is too small and too deep inside the printer. I can see the paper when I look under the scanner unit where the paper comes out at the front of the printer. How can we clear this? Thanks. The printer is a MFP178NW. I have managed to get most of the page out from the exit door by lowering the transfer roller.
