Find Missing Printer Serial Number
We have a M553DN LaserJet printer that was moved from one facility to another but came up missing before it could be set up at new location. I have found one another M553DN at the new facility and I got the serial number off of it. I need to get the serial number from the missing printerfor verification. Is there a way to get the serial number through the software of someone's computer that has previously printed to the missing printer? If so, how do I do that? The missing printer is still set up on the network in the old location but not physically there.

HP M227fdw LaserJet Pro - Is it about to be discontinued?
Hi,
My work have been looking at buying the M227fdw printer as we need a black & white printer with the ability to scan multiple, double-sided pages. This seems to tick all our boxes, especially with the Wifi option too. However, it doesn't seem to be available anywhere except one site where it's being offered at a hugely reduced price.
We work with a distributor who have lots of partner suppliers for IT equipment, but apparently all their suppliers have no stock and no known date for restocking.
Given this, and the hugely reduced price of the one supplier I could find, it looks like the product's being discontinued. I just wondered if anyone could confirm this as ebuyer.com seemed to think it was still the current product and should be coming back?

How to change Paper Size
Hi,
My 2550n still soldiers on working perfectly except of late its throwing up an amber light and won't print of a Macbook Pro until I manually encourage it with a green button push. The Self Test/ Configuration shows Paper Size set at Letter whereas in UK we default to A4. I thought the MacOSX driver overrode it but maybe not. I suspect, therefore, this may be part of the problem despite me having document page sizes set to A4.
Either way how do I change the printer's default Paper Size?
BTW has anyone got a MacOSX HP Toolbox software? When I bought the printer the CD was a generic 2500 series with no MacOSX HP Toolbox at all. I see HP did later offer one with the 2550n series but I cannot see it anywhere on the web. It would be nice to be able to manage more than I can at present with the limted web interface

HP 8550dn tray 1 paper feed causing 58.1 power cycle error
Issue comes up everytime paper is fed from tray 1 - paper sometimes goes in may an inch before error occurs. I have replaced separation roller and separation pad for tray 1 to no avail. Turning printer off then on per 58.1 power cycle error directions found online to reset paper diverter doesn't correct issue.
Paper fed from tray 2 prints and exits machine without issue.
Anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot to correct issue?

Printer Clicks reading paper tray
Replaced the Maint kit (papers were coming out smeared and black) and now when I close tray 2, the left side of the printer (where the board and vents are) is clicking when trying to read the paper tray and that there is paper in it. Any suggestions/tips/advice? Was it broken before this?

Printer crashes and doesn't start up
A while ago the printer gave error messages as paper stuck in printer every page a trie to print.
I restarted the printer cause I was tired of those error messages and the printer stuck initialising.
After 2 days a put the printer off. When I tried to start the printer again, you get the start screen, flashing to white screen when fully loaded, and then restart reload...
And this keeps going on... Even when I cut the power off and restart again.
Can anyone help me?

How to force print and ignore all errors?
I have an hp printer that has an error that is cost prohibitive to replace the broken part. However, there are many functions of the printer that do not require this part, and I would like to still be able to use the printer for those functions. I also would like to be able to try to print even with the part not working, because there is nothing to lose in trying it, as I will otherwise have to replace the printer. However, there is no option to dismiss the error and force it to print anyway, at least that I can see. Is there any way to do this, to just ignore all errors and make it try to let me use the device anyway? It seems odd that this seems to be completely blocked; after all, this is my printer and I should be able to do with it what I want to, even if that comes with a risk of damaging it further (a risk that I am fine with, as it is either this or the trash heap). Any ideas?

Enable TLS 1.2
Does anyone know what I need to do to enable TLS 1.2 on the follwoing printer:
HP LaserJet 400 color M451dn
I have installed the latest firmware update which is 20150126.
Even after the firmware update the option to enable TLS 1.2 is not avaible. I dont evel have the option to chose my security options.

HP Laserjet M553dn jamming when printing Avery name badges
Okay so we've been dealing with an issue on our new HP Laserjet M553 where it jams everytime we try printing Avery Name Badge labels (Avery 8395). After spending two hours chatting with HP support I was told the printer doesn't support Avery. When I asked why he just told me to try a different brand.
So here I'm hoping to find the answer to a few questions I have.
Does this HP printer really not support Avery labels? That seems foolish as they are the largest brand/maker of labels.
If this printer does not support Avery labels, in particular the 8395 name badge, why? Is there a technical reason?
If this Avery not supported business is just nonsense then how do I go about resolving this issue of jamming? I've tried changing the paper type to heavy and evelope, neither resolved the issue. I've checked the path. I've checked the pickup motors, I've actually checked every motor and sensor, in the troubleshooting menu. I've checked the rollers. I have no idea why this printer hates these labels. I've tried both the manual feed and the paper tray, it jams from both and in the same place, in the fuser about 1/3rd of the page in, just about right after one row of labels.
Okay guys. so any pointers? I'm at my wits end.

cannot print since Windows update on Jan 11
I have tried everything suggested in troubleshooting, including reinstalling 3 times. There were no problems until the latest Windows update. My old Canon inkjet works just fine.

HP ENVY PHOTO 7155 LOADING LEGAL (8.5 X 14) PAPER
To Load Legal paper (8.5 x 14) in the HP Envy Photo 7155 printer, remove the top on the paper tray (where the paper comes out when printed), then add legal paper to the tray. The paper will stick out the back but the printer will register as closed and work properly. I hope that this helps.

Wireless Printing
This problem just happened in last month after having printer for a couple of years...
I try to print wireless and the option to do it no longer appears. What I see under printers is MFP M130fw (offline) if I'm not connected via USB. When I go to the Wireless Wizard on the printer, I connect successfully to the Internet. Clueless why I can't see a wireless printer in my printing options any more. I am able to print from my cell phone though, just not my lap top.

My HP7740 randomly printed out my Network configuration in the middle of the night.
My HP 7740 randomly printed out my Network configuration in the middle of the night. I have owned this printer for a couple years and it has never done this before. I just recently connected Sonos speakers to my Wifi. Not sure if this would have something to do with it. Could someone be hacking in and trying to connect to my system? The response I saw on here did not seem to fit the problem, as several more have had the same complaint.

My p1505 laser jet scrolls between pages.
My hp laser jet p1505 printer does not print one page after another. It waits about 5 seconds before printing each succeeding page. So if I have a file of say 10 pages it takes a long time to print out. How can I make the printer to print one pager after another without waiting or as my computer tech says "is scrolling{ or queueing up

HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdn Service 79 error
I know there have been older threads on this issue, but a brand new hp m477 is in an infinite reboot loop ending in error 79 in a network with a Unifi 4P GW and multiple 48 & 24 Unifi POE Switches. I was told by HP support that they believe a bad print file caused the initial error 79 (firmware crash from what I've been told from malformed pdf file...which never had any issues before...but thats another rant). I was even sent a replacement printer after spending a few hours trying debug this issue the first time it occured. Even after clearing all print jobs and physically isolating the printer on the network, the printer still crashes shortly after rebooting and obtaining IP address (or just connecting with a manual IP address). I reemove the network cable and there are no problems printing over USB. I should mention that IPV6 is disabled and there appears to be no problems when in a network with a non-Unifi GW. The only way to stop the reboot cycle is to disable WS-Scan and WS-Discovery in the advance network settings on the HP m477 printer. HP support has no idea why.
