I have a Photosmart C4780, and while it worked well for a month or two, it's been giving me problems for a long time. So much so, that I just stopped printing altogether at home. However, there are moments when I need a printer, so I need to try to fix this. Here are the issues with the printer so far.
1. The touch screen is super buggy. As soon as the printer starts, it automatically selects the first options in the touch screen menu without me doing anything, and it keeps on progressing until the end. If I actually touch the back, it will respond, but it immediately goes progresses forward again.
2. Printer is connected to the wireless network, however, I can not print wirelessly.
3. Printer connects via USB to computer, however, it does NOT show up when trying to do an update. The update software has a screen where you can choose to connect the printer via usb or wirelessly, and it does not detect either one.
I can't update the firmware on this thing because it's not recognized via USB or wirelessly. I tried running the "Critical Update to Prevent and Recover from Unresponsive Front Panel Issues" fix, but it keeps saying device not connected, and no matter how many times I try to refresh, restart and refresh, it can't find the printer.
This printer has become completely useless at this point. Is there a way to fix these issues? Is there a way to maybe manually update the firmware via the SD card slot?
