Need help setting up HP Laserjet 3050 to MacBook Pro running 10.8.5

HP 3050 is plugged in, turned on and connected to laptop via USB.

I can select HP 3050 in System Preferences and print on HP 3050 from laptop.

BUT, using the HP Setup Assistant, I am unable to locate the HP 3050 on the Select Device page, and thus unable to configure it to scan, fax, ect.
