I have a Model E8B06UA#ABA touchscreen laptop (2 months old). After doing the upgrade from Windows 8.0 to 8.1 (64-Bit), the scanning function on my CM1312nfi MFP quit working (it still prints fine, and scans from another laptop with Windows 7/64-bit, which I just upgraded using the same full solution package). I also upgraded the firmware on the MFP at the same time, but, as I said, it scans fine using the same package from the Windows 7 PC.
When I try to run the full solution package on the Touchscreen, it does fine through the MFP/unpack-and-set-up-animation part of the installation, and when I get to the software installation point, I get the new screen and click on "Install". Then I get the small square picture with the hourglass in it, it turns over once, and then the hourglass picture disappears. As near as i can tell, it has completely aborted the installation, with none of the software (scanning or Toolbox FX) installed.
I also did an uninstall of the Printer software and the Scanner Software, and tried reinstalling again --- same problem.
Suggestions?
