During the last month my computer has been unable to print via USB to my printer.
When I attempt to print from a program, I get an error dialogue box on my computer similar to the one for Windows Program Manager that says: "encountered a problem printing your picture. Trying reinstalling your printer, and then try again"
I get messages like this for Corel Photo, Access, Excel, Word, etc, etc.
I have tried on numerous occasions to reinstall the printer. I have used your Windows 8 installation wizard. I have used your HP Print and Scan Doctor. Nothing works. The computer sees the printer, but is unable to print using the test page. Print and Scan Doctor then goes through a series of suggestions most of which ask for printer drivers to be reinstalled which I have done numberous times.
This is driving me crazy.
For 20 years I have been using HP printers, mainly because they were simple to install and trouble free. But this worthy characteristic seems to be a fading. What happened to plug and play? And there is no use having a Print and Scan Doctor that cannot recognise the problem!
My problems seemed to have started with my buying a computer with Windows 8. (Rue the day!) It got worse when I upgraded it to Windoes 8.1. Can someone at HP please provide a solution to get me out of this mess.
