HP 7520 On/Off Switch... rebooting Windows 7

Hello,

I recently purchased a HP 7520 SmartPhoto Printer and connected to a PC (Windows 7 professional).  Everything seems to be working all right  (except ADF printing on two sides, posted on another thread).  However, I have two questions (Part was on the other thread I posted about ADF printing).

First Question- When I press the printer button to "Off" the printer turns off, but I can not get it to turn on again. However, I have found that if I completedly disconnect the 120v Power plug and then connect the electricty again (plug in the male plug), I can then press the "On' button and the printer turns on.  I have learned to accept this... but any info will be helpful.

Second Question:  When I turn the computer off, the printer is still "on" (sometimes in sleep mode) but then I turn off the power (surge protector strip) it which the computer and printer power is connected to, all gets turns off.  Then later on I turn on the power (surge protector) and the printer turns "On" again.  And then I press the "On Button" for the computer to start up.  However, it does not completely boot up (the Windows screen and desktop) and into the desktop screen.
So I have to Ctrl, Alt Delete and then click on "restart" or click on shut down).  Next I again click on the "On Switch" of the

computer and it finally boot up and showing my desktop.  Again, the printer is on all the time... as I try to boot up my computer.  Is this caused by the printer and software... sleep mode? whatever?

Any help, comments regarding the above will be helpful,

Sy
