HP Deskjet F380 All-in-one installation "The parameter is incorrect" error

I've been trying to install a HP Deskjet F380 that my brother in law gave us. I downloaded the proper driver for my Windows XP-64 OS but evertime I try I get to step 1 of 4 on the progress bar and encounter this error- 

Error Situation code 18493851

THe following liens were retrieved from the installation error logs

Now Launching= X:\hpzshl40.exe -m

icepreshield, hpsecurity, delayedreboot -IXXX -f X:\DIVins??.DAT

Cannot load data failed returning The parameter is incorrect. 

Exit code=87 

Then once you click "continue" from the error collection report it just shuts down the whole driver. 

I've restarted the computer several times and I've tried installing it via the "HP solutions for install errors" wizard that was save to my desktop the first time I encountered this error. 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
