I have a HP5520 All in One. It was working fine up to a few days ago. It used to open up to a screen on my computer when I clicked the Icon for the printer and asked me to choose if I wanted to use USB or Wireless. When I would select that then I would get another screen I think where I could select to Scan a document.
A couple of days ago the icon to call up the first screen, where I select which USB or Wireless would work but when I would select and click okay, nothing would happen. It would not open anything further. I could still print if I asked it to print something and I could still scan if used a HP Doctor Repair program. In other words the Doctor program would go through tests and say everything was okay and then ask me if I wanted to do a test scan. I could use that test scan function to scan something.
I have downloaded and installed the Full Driver package for the HP 5520 All in One several times this morning. It goes through the install process but then when I try to use the printer, for example, I go to START and click on the 5520 icon, it brings up the dialogue box that says "install the HP Printer". The HP Wizard from the support page says everything is okay. But it seems like now I can't even get it to bring up that first screen that lets me choose USB or Wireless. It just doesn't open up the program any more on my computer.
It will print if I select to print something from the computer. But it won't open up the dialogue box that allows me to get to the scan functionality.
When I scanned a document from the screen on the printer itself and I chose to scan it to my computer. It went through the scan function and I could see the document on the little screen on the printer but it didn't pop up on the computer at all so nothing I could do with it, like save it or anything.
Help. I have tried everything I can think of.
