I've owned a HP colour laser printer before (from memory 1500 series), where the printer will intermittently cycle through its toner cartridges every few hours even if no printing has occured. This processes uses toner, so while the printer is on, it will always be running the toners down, even if no printing occurs.
I want to find out if this is the case with new HP colour lasers as well, in particular this model : HP M277DW Laserjet.
My printing behavior is that I'll only need colour prints occasionally, but usually in large amounts hence laser is much more efficient and faster, but I'd like a printer that won't use up toner simply by being on.
