This problem exibits itself as not allowing me to do anything with scan to computer or with FAX. Constantly says "Cannot connect to printer" which is false since I can print just fine. On investigation, a program called "HPNetwork Communicator" is crashing each time I attempt these things. This can be seen in the Windows Application Log as Event ID 100 as show here:

This makes scanning a nuisance and FAXing basically not possible. It's a bit disheartening that this problem has been reported all over the forums for at least 18 months, but HP has apparently not fixed it. I have tried all the usual re-installs, etc., to no avail.
If anyone has insight into how to correct this AND maintain the printers full fuctionality, it would be appreciated.
